How to Prepare for Wasp or Hornet Nest Removal

Main job: keep distance. From booking until removal, keep people and pets away from the nest area, and do NOT knock it down, spray it, or block its entrance. A disturbed colony is what sends people to the ER — an undisturbed one is a routine removal.

Before we arrive

Mark, don’t approach. Know where the nest is and tell us everything you’ve observed: where wasps enter and exit, how long it’s been there, and any spots you’ve been stung. If wasps are entering a wall, soffit or vent gap rather than a visible nest, that detail matters — never seal that hole, or you may drive them into the house.

Clear the work zone. Move patio furniture, toys, BBQs and vehicles a few metres away from the area below and around the nest. Close windows and doors near the nest, and plan to keep kids and pets inside while we work and for an hour after.

Access. Unlock gates. If the nest is above a deck or in a tricky spot, clear a path. Nests needing extension-ladder or roof access are quoted before we start — you approve the number first.

After removal
