Case study · Mice · Greater Toronto Area

The entry point two companies missed

A home with a mouse problem that had already outlasted two previous service calls. The fix was finding the one gap nobody had found.

The situation

The homeowners had been living with mice for months. Droppings kept reappearing in the same kitchen cupboard and the scratching in the wall never fully stopped, even after traps caught a few.

What had been tried

Two other companies had each been out. Each set bait and traps; each visit brought a quiet week or two, then the activity came back. Nobody had explained where the mice were getting in.

What we found

On the first visit we walked the foundation and every utility entry before setting anything. The mice were coming in through a gap around a line entering the house — small enough to miss from a few feet away, exactly the kind of pencil-width opening a mouse needs. Inside, the activity mapped straight back to it.

What we did

Inside and outside stations went in on visit one and every entry point was photographed. At the seal-up visit three weeks later we confirmed the activity had stopped and sealed the gap and the smaller ones around it. The stations stayed in, with a quarterly inspection to catch anything freeze-thaw opens up.

Result

No activity after the seal-up. The homeowners’ words, not ours: “mouse free at last.”

“they found the entry point that previous companies couldn’t find and sealed it. Now we are mouse free at last.”
